Vulnerability is a life necessity as scary and taboo as it is for many. It is the common denominator that makes us all human. In order to develop closeness we have to take a chance and allow others in ... we need to be vulnerable. A lot of us have been conditioned in life from an early age to build a wall, not to share with others, keep people at a distance, put on a brave face, pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, don't ask for help, don't cry in front of others; basically do not show weakness, don't show vulnerability. What a lonely life that can create in our hour of need. It is not healthy to close ourselves off from others and try to figure everything out on our own. This opens the door to a lot of maladaptive behaviors such as addiction, self harm, depression, anxiety, social phobia, abuse on varied forms and levels. Vulnerability=Humanness and that is the one thing that connects us all. My goal is to assist others in all life stages with improving their life, building their tribe of supportive people, eliminating the negative chatter, helping establish boundaries with the negative forces in our lives and finding their truth.
I am grateful to have worked with so many populations and economic situations coast to coast. I've provided mental health services in private settings and public, the great outdoors, inner cities, Native American Reservations, schools, hospitals, clinics as well as in an office in the burbs. I have learned we are all human and struggle is a part of our DNA. It is how we view our world regardless of the circumstances that predicts our joy in life. However you are feeling is valid and learning to self-validate is an essential skill towards building your life worth living.
Let the journey begin. Namaste.

Katie Hutchinson, MSW, Registered Intern Masters of Social Work .
- Psychotherapist & DBT Skills Trainer
Hello! I’m Katherine Hutchinson, a Florida Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (RCSWI), proud military wife, and mother of two wonderful boys. My passion for social work was sparked during my time with the Juvenile Justice System, leading me to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. I further specialized by earning a Child Welfare Specialist Certificate from Florida International University and completed my advanced standing Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work at Florida State University. My career began at the Department of Children and Families Services, where I developed a strong foundation in child and family welfare. I then transitioned to Wesley House Family Services, working as a Child Case Manager, focusing on supporting teens and families. Later, I joined the Children's Home Society as a Child Welfare Specialist, collaborating with caregivers in foster care and adoption services. These roles deepened my understanding of the unique challenges facing children and families, and it was through this experience that I realized the critical need for more mental health professionals dedicated to supporting youth and families. This realization fueled my return to school to
further specialize in clinical social work.
Today, I’m passionate about working with teens, families, individuals, and couples. I lead adult Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups and have received training in several therapeutic modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). and Mindfulness. I specialize in treating individuals struggling with anxiety, mood, and depressive disorders. My approach is collaborative and solution-focused, helping clients identify and achieve their life-worth-living goals. I am committed to
empowering individuals and families on their journey toward emotional well-being and resilience.
